The rain fell on the roof-top
And her world became dark;
A mere girl, her heart cried alone;
The universe seemed sad, when it rained.
The rain fell on the roof-top
And she woke up to life:
A young woman, full of dreams and hopes;
Everything sang her song, as it rained.
The rain fell on the roof-top
And she was worried for her child
Playing and splashing in the water;
She thought he might catch a cold, while it rained.
The rain fell on the roof-top
And she was quiet;
Tired and old now, she was
Fast asleep, under a blanket, and it rained.
