The Question

The life-partner gets the name, the children;
She seems so full of all the bounties of life;
Yet, what happens if there is no love in the union?
How much of a marriage does it stay?
Sometime, somewhere, the soul-mate comes
Quietly, with an eternity's love for him.
Her eyes are full of light.
Who should win: the one who has so much to show,
Or the one who has surrendered her all
Asking for nothing in return?
(A poem on a man's experience of a fake, hollow marriage and his encounter with his one true love. In no way does the poem advocate marital infidelity)

its been really long that i visited here.. was too too busy..

Its sad but a lot of marriages today are like what u have mentioned here.. to find true love is a blessing.. but to be unable to have it or keep it as one is married is sad too.. i would wish that love wins but there are others whose life is affected as well with this.. so .. its tough ..

Hi Sindhu,

Really nice to see you again; hope all is well with you.

You are right: it is a tough situation. That is why the question arises.

Let us hope the love wins without being unfair to anyone concerned.

Let us leave the case to God.

Best wishes :)

Gives a great insight into a loveless marriage. Many face this situation in the present scenario sadly.

That was a lovely poem Ayesha!

Sadly enough there are many who are loveless and married. But I believe that until and unless, one is confident enough to commit himself/herself to the "one", there's definetely no point in walking down the aisle.

Love is certainly the soul of marriage, without which marriage does not exist in a real sense.

And so far the question was concerned- without a second thought, "one who has surrendered her all, asking for nothing in return" wins!

Hi Anubha!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment. What if one makes the wrong choice in marriage? That is the issue.

Thank you for answering the question in the poem. Yes, I hope the one who has surrendered her all, wins.

It is up to God to decide the winner, and God is the best judge ever.

Cheers :)
