The real courage

The courage, to listen to the voice that always speaks the truth, is mostly lacking in people. That voice is that of conscience. It is conscience which tells us right from wrong, truth from falsehood. However, one needs to be really brave to follow that voice because if we choose to do so, we will inevitably meet with rejection and humiliation from the world at large. If not for life, then at least for a number of years will we have to deal with this pain. The classic example is Jesus Christ. The hypocrites all play the game of convention, pretending to be socially-wonderful. And, they get the results too: applause for what they have not contributed, but in their hearts, they tremble all along the journey of life, afraid that sooner or later the truth about them will get exposed. It usually does. What does the person, who listens to the voice, get in the long run? He/she leads a life of inner contentment and when death comes, happily leaves the world joyfully anticipating a reunion with the Lord.

Hi Amal,

If we are unable to face ourselves, can we ever be really happy even if the whole world says, "wah wah"? I have used the expression, 'inner contentment'. That sums it up.

Best wishes :)

To look up at reality is difficult for a lot of people who never listen to it, cause this is a materialistic world. These are people who are scared of death when it comes. They presume they are perpetual, they never know the state of mind with which they would (Die)leave the world with sins buried in them.Nice Post Ayesha.

Hi Grey !

Agreed; this is a materialistic world. But the soul need not be so. This is what I have tried to convey in my post.

Thanks, and best wishes :)

When You are materialistic the respect for the soul gets LOST and the Inner voice falls on deaf ears and ones conscience is a Passive Spectator. In the Process one is Blinded.Judas Betrayed Jesus Christ for only 30 pieces of Silver.

Hi Grey,

So, isn't it our duty to not get blinded by material gains? As you have rightly said, no one will live here forever. What we have in this world, will be left behind when we move on to the hereafter.

The inner voice is always true but muffled and heard only by thewilling listener.

Hi Parthasarathi!

Thanks. Yes, if the listener is willing, nothing can stop him/her from following the inner voice.

Best wishes :)

Ayesha Parveen, I fully subscribe to your noble thoughts. In this materialistic world most of us seek short term gains even at the cost of killing our conscienc(inner voice)

I absolutely agree with you. If you listen to your conscience, you might face difficulty here and there. But not only you die happily, but you will also live with a mental peace throughout your entire life. You may not be "happy" always as the world defines "happy" for you, but you know deep inside that you are "happy" in your own terms.
