The Joy of Sunset

The happy days were over for him
And the cruel ones had come;
Watching the sunset from his room
He wondered why life had changed such
For he had done none harm!
Since he could not change the change
He decided that it was not for him to ask
Questions whose answers were not given.
But somewhere within his heart
The man knew that only the temporary alters;
And knowing this, he stopped grieving
For those who had faked love for gain.
That done, he found happiness again;
Finally, he tasted peaceful joy, in himself.

Change that is not in your control is always to be accepted and it always will be for the BEST.Happiness is always there within you, you just need to discover it.Nice one Ayesha, Keep writing.

Very beautiful. Faking love for gain, It happens every where. Thats why its good to be a looser once in a while.

Well Written...
I liked it in the beginning more than the end...The ending could be made better I believe, somehow those last few lines dont emerge and embel well...Nonetheless, You used those simple words with perfection , I like this line "Since he could not change the changeHe decided that it was not for him to askQuestions whose answers were not given." Keep writing :)

Hi Sriram!

Wow! What a surprise :D I had not guessed it at all.

Thanks a lot for your encouraging comment. You have rightly said that what cannot be changed, should better be accepted.

Best wishes :)

Hi Ramesh!

You have correctly said that it is better to lose out in worthless battles :) But the worthless battles are the stories of all that is fake. True love is worth dying for; true love is worth the wait.

Cheers, and best wishes :)

Hi Rush,

Thanks for your visit and your comment. It is best to distance oneself from certain things. If resistance is not working and accepting it is not possible, ethically or emotionally, the best course of action is to move away emotionally from that person or situation,I think.

Best wishes :)

Hi Ayesha:)

Lovely poem with fantastic insights.

I understand there are three wonderful points you want to convey in this gorgeous poem.

!) CHANGE is the only permanent thing in this life. Everything changes for regeneration. Nature changes, climate changes, situations change.

2) There is no point in regretting about the changes in life. Life and life situations will change. Regret and remorse is only a colossal waste of time and energy.

3) A person can survive only if he changes. May be it is alright to sit and analize about the change that has occurred for a while but it is always better to get moving and adapt to change fast.

In any case you can’t hold on to people who fake love for gain. It is always better to let go of these pretenders and move on. This is the only way to be happy and peaceful.

I enjoyed reading your well thought out , well written poem with many useful practical wisdom built into it.

Have a lovely day Ayesha:)
