Moving On

A few days back I consulted a childhood-friend about a situation. The way she reacted was a shock for me. Under the guise of being realistic, she used the meanest and nastiest words possible. It was obvious that she saw in my case something which was missing in her life and she chose to react the wrong way.

No one has everything and it is only decent and sensible to accept this fact. If someone decides to be negative towards us, that too in a way that would hurt us the most, it is better to move on. This friend and I were very close for years and even when the distance between us started to grow, I had closed my eyes to it. However, now I have decided to move on. Wishing her the best in her life, I am emotionally distancing myself from her.

This moment is a new beginning in my life.

Sometimes even the most treasured friendships end up in a bitter way. Its quite disheartening but guess its a part and parcel of life and reasons are inexplicable. We are left with no choice but to move on to protect ourselves from the pain but this very choice leaves us with a lot of hurt.:(

Hi Swetha,

Thank you very much for your comment showing much understanding. Yes, it hurts to break up years of friendship now gone dysfunctional; but it would hurt self-respect if I continued in a fake friendship.

As you have correctly said, it is part of life and inexplicable.

Have a nice day, Swetha :)

That's a good decision Ayesha, when people start hurting you , its better you move on..theres no use being sad about it and ruining your life , there are many who value us as a person, its better to give them time, other then to those who leave no stone unturn to highlight our short comings.
Moving on gives a new lease to life:)
All the best to you:)

Time and distance stale the friendship to an extent. But to hurt with barbs of venom is despicable.A good riddance,Ayesha.

Hi Parthasarathi,

Thank you for understanding. Time and distance do stale some friendships but the ones which have depth last because they are cases of soul-connections, and as we all know, souls are beyond the limits of Time and Space.

This particular person has proved by her behaviour that as friends, she and I do not belong together.

I am taking it in my stride. Have a nice day. Cheers :)

I am sorry this happened to you. It has been my experience that relationships seem to come in cycles and there are times when one person is unable to see the other in the true light of their character due to overlaps within a relationship. This too has happened in my life and it makes me sad, but you are likely doing what is right for you. Trust your instincts. You do not have to put yourself in a position where someone else can freely hurt you due their own issues.
